It seems to me that those overseas votes should have had a deadline for mailing of several weeks ago. They should have arrived at one place, for counting on Tuesday!!!

Well for one thing many of the military personnel had real problems getting ballots sent them. Wonder if that was just an accident? In fact some of them did not receive the ballots until the day before the deadline!

"Given that in 999,999 out of 1 million elections the election would have been over 3 days ago, the late-arriving votes would be of absolutely no consequence."

Hmmmm???? Let me think about that one.....oh....I know....this is not a NORMAL election. :-)

this would not allow the overseas people the same opportunity to examine all of the information about the candidates up until the date of the election.

What if somebody who is overseas was a victim of a drunk driver and one of the candidates has a record of drunk driving but it doesn't come out until 4 days before the election?

I think that it is fair to have the absentee ballots be submitted on the day of the election.
