John - Re: "Man, this is ugly."

You made that forecast very early in time on the Election 2000 thread... and you were right then, right now.

The good part is that the US of A has survived much worse than this. Still no tanks in the street.

Can the stock market recover if this country can't manage to elect a President? Should it?

So far, the only one who has flipped out is Gore's minions, if, the "confusing ballot" argument is a specious as it appears to be. They, Christopher, Daley have visibly now backed off that stance, and are talking in terms of recount. We have backup procedure on top of backup procedure to handle all of this, and we will use as much of this as we have to.

Man, this is ugly.

No its not. The only ugly thing was the Gore camp crying fraud, without any evidence, that I have seen. Or "illegal" without any controlling legal authority that I have seen.

And veiwed in a positive light, you have to admit, this is a great living example of the need for five nines reliablity.

Legally speaking,

..."If the guy don't punch, he must be a dunce".
