... they're nearly every last one of them POSes...

I agree, there are many Positively Outstanding Stocks in the marketplace. Trouble is, many are mis-priced. When people understand that when they buy shares they are really buying a piece of a company and not some obscure lottery ticket, they'll begin to pay close attention to just what they're getting for their money. Few will pay a Cadillac price for a skateboard, but do just that when investing (speculating).

Warren Buffet, a well known investor, once said that price is what you pay for shares, value is what you get. I'm sure many on this thread are convinced they're getting good value for the shares they've purchased, while others are equally convinced prices have appreciated so far beyond value that the only wise course of action for them is to divest themselves of those shares they perceive as priced too high.

Fortunately, a market exists where people who differ in their outlook can exchange their shares and cash and sleep soundly, comforted by their belief that they made wise choices. Discussion forums, such as provided by SI, is another avenue of expressing our beliefs of the relative strengths and weaknesses of the investment appropriateness of various company shares; however, no matter how strongly we debate our opinions and argue our positions, the accompanying satisfaction doesn't approach that of sitting on a pile of profits.

Cheers, PW.
