Amy,

I think INTC went down partially due to Morgan Stanley's downgrade, along with DELL. As I said in a previous post, INTC was punished at least six times on someone else's bleak outlook. Guilty by association, I suppose.

Amy, <there was one post that asked for Sander's removal, namely due to the CC yesterday where some bad news was announced: 2 delays (1.5 & .13).>

AMD couldn't have asked for a better time to announce the delays of 1.5 GHz and 0.13u. With most of the nation still focused on Indecision 2000, including the high-tech world, AMD's delays will go by unnoticed.

Besides, who cares about a 0.13u process or 1.5 GHz anyway? They'll both be VERY obsolete in 2004, yet our next president will still be in office by then!

Amy, <<<has anyone noticed that INTC is trading at $37 and was down more than 10% today? At least it's not Intel's fault.>>>

A lot of the credit has to go to Mark Edelstone. His timing is exquisit. The world is shaken by US election results, Dell is going through some growing pains (can't keep up with 30-50% growth of recent past), spector of the recurring competitive threat from AMD and resulting devastating price war (this theme props up every two years for the past 20 years), and for the past five years there is the end of the PC/Computer era (no one is buying PC's and computers anymore)from the very au courant (sp?), glib, mo mo talking heads - Edelstone issues, with all the gravitas he can muster, - "Intel could be faced with challenges" or words to that effect.

I didn't see any meaningful new metrics to support his warning/downgrade/whatever.

Perhaps GVTucker was provided some PM on Edelstones secret new metrics for downgrade. Who knows?
