That's basically it. And with the $ as the primary reserve currency for the world? We can just keep printing and bailing and printing and bailing as long as other countries will accept our paper. Many forecasters grossly underestimated how long this post cold war honeymoon was going to last for the $ printing press. As the whole thing rests on confidence in the political and economic stability of the US you never know in advance what event(s) will break the spell. Who knows? Maybe it's descending upon us right now... Isopatch
