Hyoncrisy is never a good thing. Had Bush's expectation come true, and he had won the popular vote but not the Electoral College, I would have been just as outraged at any attempt to undermine out political system by him as I am at the attempts by Gore to undermine it. We have a system for electing Presidents that has worked for over 200 years, and it is what it is. The system is more important than who is elected for any particular 4 year term.

The fact that both parties are so petty and greedy is why I cast my vote for Browne, knowing of course that he had no hope of winning (though he did beat Buchanan in many if not most states). On the other hand, I cast my vote for Browne knowing full well that I would support whoever wins in the Electoral college. I still plan to support whoever is the winner after the absentee ballots are in. I will not support any other pretender.

Carl

The GOP's Popular-Vote Hypocrisy

Republicans feared

...advisers to the Bush campaign

It quoted Republican sources...

sources said...

...who declined to be named

This is the most irresponsible type of reporting there is, any jerk-off with a word processor can make outrageous claims with these type of catch phrases. Unfortunately, some not only get paid for this drivel, they get the uninformed to believe everything they write.
