No. Re-read my post. Remember that a President may be elected for a second term. With that in mind, during a President's first term, how much will a President care about the interests of people in less-populated States, if we had a simple popular vote for the Presidency?

You sound like you are thrashing around emotionally, instead of thinking of the issues. The electoral college system was designed by the founders of this country. It is the best system. If the Florida re-count and any other State re-count shows Bush with more popular votes, but with Gore winning Florida electoral votes, everything I said would still be true, and I would encourage everyone to accept and honor the incoming President. The rule of law is what we have and what we want.

The Palm Beach ballot is simple to follow, if a person knows what an arrow pointing to a hole means. And if a person doesn't know what an arrow pointing to a hole means, then they should probably do the country a favor and stay home on election night.
