Scumbria,

Given proper instruction, I would certainly expect second graders to perform a simple classroom task better than a group of uninstructed adults in a stressful environment.

What are you suggesting, mandatory meditation, massage, relaxing music and some aroma therapy before voting?

I find it hard to believe that someone who is retired and has voted over 40 times in his life still finds the situation stressful.

If after 40 attempts one still finds it stressful, there is one answer: preparation. I still do it. I look over the ballot and read the proposition before I enter the voting booth. The propositions tend to be written in a very legalistic language, and I wouldn't want to slow down people waiting on line by trying to figure it out in the voting booth.
