Just a Question .. Since this election still hinges on the Florida popular vote count; which is a 'statistical' dead heat (ie) they could re-count the votes 10 times and get 10 slightly different results .. Is their any possibility/probability/precedent that Florida would not have 'certified' the election by Dec 18th in time for the EC vote ?? And if that is possible/legal what rule set would apply for the EC vote ?? In other words do we get a President from the EC vote on Dec 18th if neither candidate can put together a coallition for the required 270 votes ?? Jim in CT @enquiring-minds-want-to-know.com

Vendit, I can see why the other news media weren't picking this one up. It is certainly a red herring and a distraction, just as is the Democratic effort to play the media game with their street theater. My hope, probably futile, is that both sides will act as adults. For your information, I'm of the view that comments relating to or by Mr. Limbaugh have no place on this thread. For several days, we have had a civil and generally non-partisan discussion of the actual facts here. The reason I'm here is because partisanship and small minded bickering are at a minimum on this thread. I'd hope that you could respect the tone of this tread and express your partisanship on any of the several other threads at SI that are discussing this matter. Thanks for considering this and thanks for maintaining a civil tone. :) Regards, Ray
