I am relying on the opinion of a lawyer who is an expert on election law. One of the major precedents is a Democratic primary election overturn here in Massachusetts a few years ago. That is why punch ballots are illegal in Massachusetts and William DeLahunt is in Congress. I have not physically examined such a ballot, but I saw a demonstration on TV of how it is fairly easy to see what the intent of the voter was. The counter examines the ballot from underneath and if the punch does not go all the way through it won't register. That lawyer that I mentioned was called down to Florida yesterday to prepare the request for remedy.

Assuming that the district judge keeps it simple and within the guidelines of Florida election law any appeal of her decision would fall on deaf ears. The Florida Supreme Court would be insane to get involved. Since there is no fraud involved and it is a state matter, no appeal to a Federal or Supreme Court is available. The last is my opinion.
