Obviously, at least 1/2 of the electorate hasn't learned. Don't expect this to get any better.
Once they get on the government teat, or hope to, they will vote themselves all the money...

I wonder if this is God's way of teaching us all the consequences of partisanship ...

Competition is what separates America from much of the rest of the world. Thomas Jefferson clearly intended for the government to be dynamic, and even left open the possibility of revolution and overthrow if necessary.

There is no reason to fear confrontation.
