Well, I just heard that the Bush campaign has gone to Federal court to decide a State issue, is that the right thing to do? Listening to the arguments flying back and forth, I got the impression that each county has a three member "canvassing" board and the best counting method is left to their discretion as well as methods of recounting.

How can we find out what was the total number of Presidential ballots vs the total of votes cast. Since their ballots for each position is a separate piece of paper, I would expect that the total number of votes assigned to candidates, plus the disqualified ballots should come out to the total number of ballots. I am wondering, if the second counting discovered about 2000 ballots that were not previously assigned to anyone, how many more ballots like that might exists?

<ot>Hi Carl - long time, hope you are well. Well, re: manual count, surprise! GOP liked the idea in NM. More, contrary to your belief, evidently both FL and TX allow it. The funny part is that it was Gov Bush who signed hand count overrules machine count into law in Texas
