Vince,

Both people are correct, realistic and intelligent when they look at a glass of water and say:

1) The glass is half-empty
2) The glass is half-full

Why it OK to have YEARS and YEARS of unremitting, over-exhuberant BULLISH posts on SI, but now a few intelligently posted ideas that go against that prevailing "wisdom" are call "over-exhuberant bearishness"?

Too many people are being ostriches.

"Use the force, Luke". Feel what the market is telling you.

If you want the final clue, take a couple of high-tech growth funds and compare the Q3 and Q4 (when they come out) stock positions in the funds.

I guarantee that will be a wakeup call as to what's happening, if it isn't apparent already.

Is optics/semiconductors going away? Hardly. In 5 years this won't matter. In 2 years this won't matter. But for the next 6 months to 1 year, IT WILL. The weeding out process has already begun.

We don't need 15 long haul companies building nationwide fiber networks. Not now.

Every organism, cycle, industry and sector (bar none), needs to rest and digest. Optics/semicon are no different.
