Jim the concern voiced in the suit is that the Florida Statute does not specify how "intent" is to be defined, so that "intent" in Volusa County may be different than "intent" in Palm Beach County. This is too important than to be left to subjective criteria.

Preposterous,,"I also believe that the ballots that did not register a vote because the punch did not penetrate the second layer of the ballot should be hand examined and those ballots where the voters intent are obvious should be allowed. This is provided for under Florida election law. There is sufficient precedent, local and national, for such a ruling.Jim " How will this be determined, I "rested my hole puncher in a hole while I was thinking, and it made an INDENTION in the paper,,,is this going to be counted...?

After listening to the press conference with Florida's Sexy of State (as JW puts it) I noticed one of the reporters ask if WPC had followed election official directions with regards to ballot sequence. The officials responded no comment. Official sequence in Florida is dictated by votes in the primaries of the state of Florida. In WPB sequence was BUSH, BUCHANAN, GORE. WPB wanted Gore's name on the left hand column under Bush. Ironically if they had followed directions Gore would have been in Buchanan's spot on the right hand side. This could have changed things if you are to believe the left - right confusion issue. Has anyone picked up on this or has my speculation already been pointed out? Dutch
