Fant Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 95453 JI, Having been on the inside of an Administration, the Carter Administration, and from my experience in serving in Washington, D.C., I write down and share my views in the public as to what I believe is going on. You may or may not like what I have to say. Yes I believe that Al Gore's burning lust for power will not allow him to accept defeat if the Florida absentee ballots confirm Mssr. Bush's lead. If Al Gore wins on the absentee ballots then he legitimately wins the election unless other states vote tallies change, and the issue is completed- Let's move on. If not, then he stands ready willing and able to subvert the electoral process in order to achieve his aims. From a historical perspective, as I noted previously Julius Caesar and Gnaeus Pompey at the end of the Roman Republic are the historical role models which come in mind when I view Al Gore's actions/behavorial patterns right now. Here's in fact Website where you may review Roman history of that period yourself:history.idbsu.edu The second request for a hand recount of only 3 1/2 of a total of 67 of Florida's Counties is flat out inappropriate and exclusionary and should be rejected immediately by any rationally thinking judge. The appeareance alone of a selective hand recount reeks of corruption. And in reality it could quickly devolve into an "inside job" of ballot box stuffing by Gore Campaign officials and local Democratic County Officials. Whether or not Mssr. Gore sanctions the actual event, he is clearly and consciously seeking to set up conditons in which such collusion and fraud may occur. Mssr. Gore's recount request may have had some credibility (but not viability) if he had requested a statewide full 67 county hand recount of Florida's votes- He did not. Think that there might have been similar problems in the other 63 1/2 counties? Mssr. Gore's request for a "recount of the recount" in only 3 1/2 counties of the entire state is a quite audacious attempt IMO to steer the Florida election results. Next these so-called "spontaneuous" demonstrations organized by the Democrats to support their demands for a 3 1/2 county Democratic area have a very specific political purpose in mind. They are intended to intimidate the Florida judiciary into bending to their demands. As an attorney of 25 years, it is my opinion that judges are not immune to political pressure. Indeed the demand and accompanying demonstrations remind me of the Sturmabteilung or Brown Shirt tactics used in the 1930's in Germany in order to intimidate and force voters and other political parties into bending to the Sturmabteilung's will. Once again sadly we are seeing these same bullying political tactics on the streets of Florida today. They are not helpful to resolution of a serious dispute. Next the Republicans finally woke up to the end run of the political process that Mssr. Gore is attempting with his 3 1/2 county of 67 county hand recount. My advice would be to the Republicans wake up and move quickly- or else you will be "gamed". Now right wing, left wing scream at me, but my political experience makes me think that the above is prety close to the truth of what is going on in Florida....And let's get back to energy stocks now...
