As you know, in his famous article in Fortune, Warren Buffet found three primary independent variables that drive the stock market: GDP, long bond, and corporate profits. fortune.com

I am quite interested in seeing how John can model movements in a major index while ignoring corporate profits.

Incidentally, the article is a sobering read for folks who are buy-and-hold long term investors.
