Catcher, GOP did not request handcounts that is the point. Unforunately a lot of decisions in hand counts are subjective and the democrats control the counties that are handcounting. Hopefully the people representing the Republicans in the handcount will be strong enough and bright enough to do the proper thing. The GOP blew it and this was proven this AM when they filed in Federal Court to block hand counts that they know are allowed under FL law and they are using subjective reasons in an attempt to block them. You have good points but they aren't the law nor were the methods you suggest used. I for one am keeping the proverbial fingers crossed. GTF

Another argument for the injuction is imagine if every county in America recounted by hand where their were punch or written ballots. That's why they are saying it would be never ending. Bush won the majority of counties in Florida. Imagine if the GOP requested every county in Florida to recount by hand which would definately give the GOP the advantage. The saga would never end. I believe the GOP has requested an Federal injuction because recounting in selective counties would still not make the election in Florida accurate, only selective. Elections are designed to include human error and should not be overturned because of human error. That's why it is the voters responsibility to follow simple instructions. In all fairness every county in Florida would have to be recounted by hand. That is a good and just argument that will hopefully prevail. My only fear is that the Federal judge who they are requesting the injuction from is a Clinton appointee. Z
