I believe this special offer from Amazon is an incredibly bearish signal. A company that is desperate to improve its margins, such as Amazon, wouldn't be offering special discounts in their strongest season.

IMHO the only reason for this sale is that figures are coming in well below their estimates.



I am in retail and one never cuts margins when business is good. I don't care how buzy Blodget thinks Amazon will be later in the season. The extra cost of shipping now is far greater than the extra temp that Amazon might need later. Also, I have never heard anything so rediculous in my life.

Talk about putting a positive spin on a very negative move.
