Cummings: Shake hands with a history book. Even had Illinois gone into the Nixon column, JFK still would have won the election. Michigan put JFK over the top, not Illinois. Illinois was just gravy, sort of like New Mexico is in this election. The real reason Tricky Dick didn't challenge the Illinois results had nothing to do with an avoidance of a protracted fight. It had to do with the fact that Tricky Dicky pulled similar vote shenanigans in downstate Illinois, and a recount would have showed very suspicious goings-on down in Ev Dirksen country. Your sanctimony nauseates me.
