The GF2 is a GREAT card. It is also way overkill for any investing or general office software I can think of. Of course, if you get frustrated by the market, you can always pop online and play some Quake3.

I generally do not recommend the more expensive videocards to people who are not going to play games on their computer. This is an area where you can step one generation back, get a powerful card but pay far less.
