I would agree, except for the fact that Buchanan alienated his primary far right support base with his shocking choice for a running mate. When he chose an African-American, his far right supporters collectively said, "huh?" Why? Because he was viewed as a legitimate voice for the rights of European-Americans. (Yes, white people.) Buchanan lost a lot of his primary supporters the day he chose his running mate, Ezola Foster. He probably would have drawn election results comparable to Nader's if he had not committed that faux pas. Buchanan is now completely dead in American politics. Even his previous supporters now view him as an unstable twit.
