Though your politics are a bit to the right of Genghis Khan ID, i object to that inaccurate description. my politics are easy to comprehend. i am for a strong national defense in order to preserve our cherished freedoms and rights. i believe that the freedoms that we take so often for granted are in grave danger whenever we relax our guard. those include the right to vote, the right to demonstrate, the right to choose, etc...without the ability to defend them..these rights will imo become meaningless and unsupportable. there are hundreds of examples of what happens when we were not prepared for defense in the past 225 years. i believe the only real power the president has is foreign policy and national defense...nearly everything else is a state or local issue or if at the federal level, requires masses of policy wonks to supervise. this year we had 2 candidates promoting national defense..both of their last names begin with a B. gore paid national defense lip service during the campaign, but the record of his 62% incomplete tour of duty in viet nam and the past 8 years of military bungling by the clinton/gore administration belies any campaign assertations he made. unclewest
