All this election garbage could have been avoided if Florida had used CDMA and Bluetooth-enabled voting devices which clearly spell out the intended recipient of the vote. Once the vote is cast, the device could have asked for confirmation. If confirmation does not take place, a human being/pollwatcher takes over and makes sure the vote is correct. The device would be similar to a remote control.

The geezers in Florida can claim that the nineteen Bingo cards they routinely manage simultaneously are more complex than a butterfly ballot, and that they were deceived and disenfranchised by the sheer daunting complexity of it all, but will they have an argument when the device is as easy to operate as a remote control?
