Oleg,

The next president will have very limited ability to pursue any agenda, whoever it is. Both the House and Senate are solidly split down the middle.

Gridlock will rule the day. They can't even get through the election process without bogging down.

Regards,

Dave

Oleg, the next president has no mandate. Bush is not the real choice of the majority, not even in Florida. He lucks out thanks to technicality and confusion. Gore, on the other hand, is not legally entitled. Will the country forget and move on in support of our president? Hard to say, seems unlikely to me.

The country is not at war, the economy is good, people enjoy some of the best times in the history of the republic. The last thing we need is lingering controversy that divides the country for 2 or 4 years.

We need someone who will bring joy, smile and happiness to people of all ages. Ladies and Gentlemen, the choice is clear, Mickey Mouse for President of the United States.

Regards,

Tom

Oleg, not a Texan so I do not know of Bush's governing style there. But his conduct the last 2 days is quite troublesome, IMO. With a gap of less than 1000 votes and about 3000 outstanding absentee ballots from overseas, the final outcome could go either way even if he believes the overseas ballots are in his favor. Yet, Bush is demanding concession from Gore while making administration transition plans with photo ops of his new administration. Can't he wait until Nov 17th? or at least not act publicly like he's the president-elect already because he isn't. That kind of self-centered arrogance casts doubt in my mind of his effectiveness to lead the country and to deal with world events.

Regards,

Tom
