As was pointed out after my prior post, the rules we are discussing only apply to paper ballots. They do not apply to electronic / punchcard ballots.

Actually Florida law specifies that the electronic ballots must follow the same rules as much as "practicable." So it will be up to the courts to decide whether it would have been practicable to follow these rules. I think they will find that it was practicable, because all of the 66 other precincts managed to follow the rules. The question will be what, if anything, the courts decide to do about this. I think they will do something, because the one precinct that bent the rules had such an outstanding outcome, as evidenced by Pat Buchanan's statement, Florida's Supreme Court has pretty broad discretion in how to deal with this.

So since a Bush victory is a Microsoft victory, once again, Microsoft's future is in the hands of the Courts!
