Breaking: Officials Won't Tell Republicans

Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000 11:30 a.m. EST

NewsMax.com has learned that Democrat election officials in Palm Beach and Broward counties are refusing to tell Republican lawyers what precincts are being hand counted. This weekend, as a result of a request by the Democrat Party, officials in Palm Beach and Broward counties began a hand count of the vote. The hand count may not include the whole vote, but begin with a sample to see if the vote needs to be completely recounted.

But officials in both counties won't reveal what precincts they have chosen to begin sampling the vote by hand count.

Republicans fear officials in both counties will select precincts with high Democrat turnouts to buttress claims a further recount is warranted.

NewsMax.com has learned that the Bush campaign is already bringing in dozens of lawyers from around the country to help them in what may be a ballot-by-ballot legal contest for the election.
