Will you quit talking about religion here? Go to your other hang out.

Thanks for your comments, Chris.

>> I find your reasoning a bit flawed. It sounds like you are saying if the Republicans become more like the Democrats then they can pick up more votes.<<

You are right. My reasoning is flawed, because we are dealing with the UNreasonable.

With each passing year, the Republican party gives in a little more philosophically, and moves a little closer toward the middle. They have to in order to get votes. How can anyone deny this? In no way am I represented.

>> I believe that if the Republicans assume the same platform as the Democrats a new party will emerge. <<

Yes, but how much longer will this take? Even a frog will stay in water that is brought to a slow boil until he dies. The majority in America seems lost and even mesmerized by the media, and each time deviancy is defined farther downward, fewer and fewer people are appalled. I feel like giving up the ghost sometimes, because every ideal I was taught at home and in school is now considered radically right wing and obsolete. I find myself living in a strange land amongst strangers I no longer recognize.

A quiet new life in New Zealand suddenly looks VERY appealing to me, but alas, I do know the grass is not greener there either. What to do?

I do not believe the U.S. will go the way of Bosnia in my lifetime, but eventually, we will face a new civil war and a great many things will be settled.

Respectfully,
John

Bill Clinton and Al Gore are Southern Baptist, nominally, at least. I think Trent Lott and Tom Delay are, too. Likewise Newt Gingrich.
