Ballot boxes trapped by bear US election officials in the town of Cross Village, Michigan, couldn't get their ballot boxes to the count on time - because a bear trapped them inside the town hall. The 400 pound animal refused to let the officials out of the building and even banged on the door in a bid to get in. Police eventually had to shoot the black bear dead because of its increasingly odd behaviour and its continued presence outside the building.
