wayne, i predict that gore steals this election. here's why:

1. gore requested a hand count of democratic stacked precincts - some 9-1 gore.

2. bush didn't request any hand counts and the deadline to request such hand counts is OVER. it doesn't matter that a repblican county threw away 26k votes for irregularities that the demos are screaming about.

3. the democratic officials in southern florida are biased and they will "divine" marks near gore's chad as a vote for gore. they will also "divine" double punched cards between gore and buchanan as gore's vote. this will be done "so the people's will can be heard." what they don't say is that they are only interested in the demicratic people's will.

4. the fed'l courts will not over turn the right of the s. florida precincts to hand count.

in the end, bush's lack of savvy and "high road" posturing will do him in. he should have immediately requested hand counts in all the predominately republican counties at 71 hours and 59 minutes (72 hours is the limit). al gore would have had the roles been reversed.

seems bush's attempt at decency will keep him on the sidelines.

why are politicians so underhanded and immoral? one reason. b/c it PAYS DIVIDENDS. period.

gore is our next president, imho. the clinton legacy will continue another 4 years. and what a way to continue. ;-)

re: everyone is hacking their agenda. i HATE rush limbaugh. he does the same crap for the republicrats. one show he berated a democrat for calling for "equity" between people. rush laughed and laughed and laughed. "what a dummy those demicrats are. doesn't this dolt know equity is the value of your home minus your debt? ha ha ha ha ha. i told you demicrats are dumb."

excuse me rush. YOU ARE WRONG. did rush say he was dumb? nope, minor misunderstanding -ng-

Wayne, How about this one for hypocrisy: You sign a law for handcounting ballots in your own state, give a speech about how that is the best way to insure democracy, and then sue when somebody uses a similar law in another state? So, the Democrats have no corner on having principals until they go against them. Dubya is about as slippery as they come, though I suppose he can always claim he just signs the laws, he doesn't know how to read them. <g>

The bit about how many strands of thread are poked out makes me laugh. Doesn't anyone else think the number poked out may increase with extra handling? Dumb!

But, as Abelson says, the Democrats ought to be good sports and just admit that the Republicans stole the election fair and square. <g>
