John, I respectfully disagree. I admit it doesn't sound very rational, but history has shown that the markets hate uncertainty. The 'banana republic' comments are being made across the globe, and the Japanese are now questioning our financial stability. It's not that the factors you reference aren't relevant - they are - it's just that many tend to discount the emphasis markets make on political and financial security of the U.S. and the rest of the G-7. regards, Louis webcolumnists.com
