>> we are now in a bear market by definition

Only if you listen to cnbc. Take a look at the broad market, as represented by the s&p500, and you'll see that we are only 9.3% down from where we started the year. As I view it, we have just seen a massive sector rotation out of techs in the past 7 months, but there has been no bear market.

Agree with you about the election, electoral college and the vote but I sure hope it takes a lot less time than 6 months to recover. I'd like 6 days....<g>

Yep... as expected a bloody start to the Monday. Most folks I've chatted with believe (like I do) that we near the bottom of this overshoot. The extasy the bears are feeling right now compares to that of the bulls when the NAZ punched through 5000. If I were a bear I'd be looking to cover soon and that by itself will stem the tide. Bad news all over the place... I'm glad HP came out this morning rather than Wednesday.... My hat's off to Carly!!!
