Bland's objective opinion is that there are no objective opinions, only comforting pretensions to such (however earnest they may be), and that most non-mathematical human ideas are equally subjective. What constitutes "useful information" is an individual and subjective call made purely for individual and subjective reasons. "a requirement, no - an objective, yes." Why, necessarily? To serve what purposes? Polvie's concept of balance is probably the most realistic and human we are likely to achieve anywhere. We should encourage him to keep his clothes on, though.
