I do not even question that butterfly ballots should not be used. The issue to me is that, in Florida, the butterfly was developed by a Democrat, approved by both dems and GOP prior to the election, then sample ballots were published in the newspaper prior to election day. The same ballot caused a problem in that county in 1996. No one complained then.

It is only because of the extraordinary close results that some wish to use this as a tool to change the outcome.
