The Supremes won't upset FL interpretations of its own laws, so long as they comply with federal Constitutional law, but I believe -- and hope -- the Supremes would accept a request to rule on federal statutory or U.S. Constitutional issues, if necessary. I, for one, feel my vote is being belittled, if not forgotten, in light of all the attention being spent on making sure Florida's elections are determined in a certain way. Don't we all deserve the same protection under the US Constitution? Equal Protection.

On a related note, CNN is just reporting that Gore campaign has hit up Washington DC's K Street lobbyists for $3 million to fund Gore's legal recount and challenge.
