monu, you should have no objection to hand recounts. They are done routinely in very very very close elections in Texas, Florida, and many other states. They result in a much more accurate count than machine counts, since they only look at ballots that the machine rejected as invalid.

Although hand counts are time consuming, they are far far less time consuming than lawsuits. In fact, we will know the results of a hand recount in PB county in about one week. Plenty of time before the electoral college meets.

If you genuinely want the will of the people to prevail, you should love hand counts. Governor Bush signed happily a bill that introduced hand counting in Texas in closely contested elections in 1997.

From what I heard 'dig a few more up' Daley say, Bush CANNOT request a recount now, since it is past HIS time limit to file.....
