Scumbria Re... I disagree. Many great leaders have serious personal flaws.

That is what distinguishes a regular leader from a great leader; not having a lot of flaws. In addition there is a difference between great military leaders (Bonaparte, Caesar, Patten, Rommel, Alexander the Great, Attila, Gengus Kahn, etc) most of whom had personal flaws, and great political leaders (Lincoln, Washington, Roosevelt, Churchill,) most of whom don't have that type of baggage. History hasn't been kind to leaders tainted by scandal. While Bill's isn't fully written yet, I believe his negatives will overshadow the positives. I got a feeling once Bill's term is over, we will be seeing several tattle tail books describing the inside deals. Just like the Hustler magazine, when you dangle enough moola around, you would be surprised how many people show up and what tales they will tell.

The country will miss that, though they may not realize it right away. These other two guys (Gore and Bush) are children.

Nah, while I don't know who will be in Al's cabinet, Cheney and Colin Powell are as good as anyone in this country. With Greenspan running the economy, all GW has to do is listen to good advice; and have a good bi-partisian relationship with congress. We will be saying Bill who within 2 yrs. Frankly, I think Alabama already told him goodby, when they voted for GW. Al probably will have a harder time of it as Al is not known for his ability to compromise to get a deal done; and he will have baggage coming in from the previous 8 yrs.

Scumbria,

I've met Clinton, and he is a natural born man of power. I have no doubt that other world leaders feel quite intimidated by him.

Why is it that lately, US foreign policy is reduced to begging. Begging Barak to give up chunks of Israel, begging Arafat to not storm ouf of meetings because the chunks are not big enough, begging him to stop the violence, begging OPEC to lower oil prices, begging North Korea to play nice.

If Hans and Franz met him, they would say he is a girly man.

Joe

Scumbria,
Do you consider yourself a man of natural born power? Or did you get on your knees before Clinton?

Jim
