Yep, the election was just thrown to Gore.....

However, by my calculation, it will take approximately 6 WEEKS to complete the recount, which is extraordinarily time and effort intensive.

To quote Luc "On Monday, we MELT!!"<NG>

yup, that's why I didn't cover anything Friday. I'm letting my shorts ride.

There ****WILLL**** be a violent rally when this crap is decided, but once again it will be a worthless bear market rally. What's INTC gonna do? I'm not sweatin', it's a $10 stock and they aren't gonn say anything to change that. Same with the other trash I'm short. This has nothing to do with the election, but from the bears point of view it's nice they have an "excuse".

Yes, by sometime Monday afternoon (after the Bush injunction is denied) I'm sure it will be widely realized that Gore has the edge, and that a final answer is weeks away.

If the markets are not already melting by then, this might be enough to push them. The drug/tobacco stocks will certainly get clobbered, and they were the only strong sectors last week.

BWDIK. Now I said all this we'll probably drift nowhere in a 20-point range all day Monday.

I saw a scenario on CNN that makes sense - if this mess isn't resolved by December 18, 2000, the date the Electoral meet in their respective states to vote, then both the Democrat Electors and the Republican Electors should meet and vote and let Congress decide which ones cast the valid votes. However, I also agree that Tice's arguments are well taken and it looks like Gore won. Which he probably did. But of course I hope not.

Looking at Globex, it sure does look like a melt on Monday.
