Well, in comparison to previous years, that's an understatement. But if you read my previous post, you will see that I only need to realize a 5% gain overall to meet my needs, and that I could actually go in the red for a while before it affected anything. I am up 20% YTD, so I'm actually pretty happy, especially compared to some of my friends who have seen their portfolios cut in half or worse. One guy went to full margin on DELL when it dropped to the mid-30s - "It can't go any lower than this!". Almost all of his holdings have been wiped out by margin calls and he has seen a comfortable portfolio disappear like smoke on a windy day.

Yes, it survived Bosnia, Kosovo, the Asian financial crisis, the Long Term Capital Management fiasco, and even impeachment, but it appears to me that the greatest bull market in history has finally been killed by the possibility that G.W. Bush actually might have been elected.
