The last two times we have elected a republican president the market has went down the next year and the last two times we have elected a democrat the market has went up the next year. That takes us back to 1984, I don't know about the years before that.

this drags out beyond this week and we're in trouble imo. i hope for a relief rally; BUT since EVERYONE is looking for one once this bs ends, it becomes less likely. time will tell. i thought of all the worst case scenarios before the elections to decided whether i should trim the portfolio in advance of 07 november. obviously i could never contemplate a debacle like this. we don't so much have a rush to the exits; it's just that the buyers are on strike until they see just how bad this is going to get. of course, since friday it has gotten worse, not better. off to bed- good night...
