As such both sides would, with some justification, describe the other as bigoted. By just reading the recent posts here on the thread one would think this election was about homosexuality or that perhaps there was some connection to being gay and being "gold". Politics and religion make as stable a compound as nitroglycerin, hence they were wisely divided by our forefathers. My interest in this thread is limited to investment. Were I to have the time (which I will NOT) to debate the religious or philosophical ramifications of this US election, I would pursue this on a different forum. I think it wise to divide investment decisions and religious or philosophical beliefs. I will make one statement which is meant to be taken from a large overview perspective and not from a religious one. It seems the more Barak and Arafat come over here to talk the more the US itself becomes embroiled with internal divisions (currently observable in opinion strife) which begin to take on similarities to the divisions the MidEast is consumed with. The election itself bringing the political pot to boil here. This is merely an observation of events which I believe one could see as on a trend chart. The conclusion from this "chart" does not bode well for the markets, which do not like strife or uncertainty. BTW, the dollar is likely shortable, IMHO, if it drops below Fridays lows. Roebear
