A Gore victory now seems guaranteed, based on pure mathematics and statistics. These hand recounts in selected Florida counties are producing a situation where each intended vote for Gore will count MORE than each intended vote for Bush. They're looking at a data realm that has a greater concentration of Gore votes through a microscope, bringing up additional Gore votes -- then they're merging this microscopically examined data with the machine-generated rough estimate for the rest of the Florida counties. This produces a statistically invalid result -- but lets Gore/Daley tell the public they're just looking for the correct answer, and how could anyone not want that?
