I think anyone, including Bush would not object to handcounting as long as there are uniform standards for determining voter intent and as long as all Florida counties are counted. How can dems, who want the REAL vote to be known object to that?

Coltongang, the real reason for his objection is that there will not be a handcount of the entire state, making the vote in effect tainted since once again not all of the votes will be represented. Statistically, one would have to assume that discounted votes would match the trned of those that were counted. tp

In Texas they fill in circles with a pencil. They don't deal with dimpled chads, pregnant chads, or hanging chads. I don't know if reading the mind of the voter is a part of Florida law, either.

We don't punch cards in Texas, we mark ballots with a pencil. If you are unable to distinguish the difference and how a manual recount in Texas would not be an attempt to determine "intent", then I cannot help you, you have been Clintonized.
