2000 vote divides the country into clear groups

GORE ----------- BUSH
*********************
urban ---------- rural
black ---------- white
women ---------- men
poor ----------- rich
north ---------- south
intellectuals -- less educated

I heard married/single was also involved, but didnt hear who for what

the clearest division in modern Post-WW2 history

not a pretty backdrop for uniting a country

Hi Tim, I was asking V if he had heard from you lately. I too do not post very often, but I do try and keep-up. Re. your post, I heard a very interesting commentary about the voting divide. Basically the point this journalist/historian made was that 200 years later, the voting system works like Jefferson envisioned: with the city folks voting for candidates which support more reliance on government, and the more rural folks voting for more independence from government. Seems to speak somewhat to your neighbor’s point without disparaging anyone...

I can't help but believe that Thomas Jefferson was one of the most remarkable individuals to have ever lived.

Good to hear from you,

Best regards,
