Well, it could be eventually, but I think we're just filling the gap, devaluing inflated P/Es during the period of uncertainty. I was hoping to put off the inevitable for another year until earnings could hopefully catch up with valuations and eventually we would resume the trend line that we diverged from in 1998 as you stated.

The problem is that the swap spreads on bonds are just as bad as they were in Oct, 1998... Which indicates that there is just as much "instability" now as there was then.

Kinda makes me want Gore to win so he can take the blame... :0)
