wayne, that is within the bounds of florida law. gore used it to advantage, bush is still going "duh, what's going on guys?"

Everybody impugns Bush's motives in opposing a hand recount, but it seems to me this is a real concern ...

think of the woman who everyone is mad at over the ballot design -- never mind that the same type butterfly ballot has been used elsewhere -- just think of one of the election workers whose hearts are torn up because of the "double-punchers" who would have voted for Gore, if they knew how -- why would it be so wrong to correct some of the injustice along the way?

I wish I had the confidence that someone in that position would do their job without bias conscious or unconscious, but I don't - do you?
