If the GOP contested Carnahan's election they would be unpopular in Missouri for years to come. However don't think GOP lawyers haven't hashed this over wanting to sue. They probably just didn't have much of a case. Their only logic was candidate has to be a resident of Missouri and Carnahan was dead. -- Besides the Prez election is far more important.
