Diamond Jim,

"I assumed you were joking when you suggested federal interference to resolve Florida's difficulty"

"Not really. Maybe Feds aren't the answer bit isn't it obvious FL. needs some hand holding from someone?"

I understand what you are saying.

It is a difficult issue to measure or define.

Where would it stop if you let it begin?
I mean, how do you define obvious? Should the Feds be allowed to interfere in the state's public schools? Or any number of other areas which they are interfering today or any number of areas which are not interfered with yet?

I would propose if Florida asked for help there may be possibilities open, but I believe when the Feds start to interpret when it is in the Feds best interest to interfere with a state, then that is when the problem begins.

Until a better way is put into place by agreement between the states, I would hope the current laws are good enough.

Bush and Gore and their carpetbaggers need to go home and let the people of Florida resolve this or ask for help.
