Clinton's affair with Monica was brought to light by Matt Drudge. The Starr report just gave the details. Under federal law this was sexual harassment, whether consensual or not, superior over subordinate. And why shouldn't the Republicans have used it for political advantage?

Scumbria,

Should anybody's sex life be used for political purposes?

No, but it is relevant in a sexual harrassment lawsuit. And the person being sued is under oath when they reply to the questions.

And, in general, our court system is an "open" court system, so that newspapers, etc. can report on cases. The trial of a bank president doing the same thing would be open.
