To date I see no undermining of the Constitution. These vote counts are being carried out under the rules of the State of Florida. This is exactly who should be dealing with these issues under The Constitution.

Your firebranding about fighting in the streets serves no specific purpose but to unmask the kind of your-way-or-no-way kind of person you sound like. I suppose after all that we have seen a lot of people would change their votes. According to polls they were right up until election day. Why would they have suddenly made up their minds now after the less than noble tactics they both have been engaged in?

The only real hope I see for a national healing is in letting the Florida State process to select their electors continue without all of the outside interference by either candidate. Clearly Bush's rush to have himself anointed will not inure to his being more than another grabby politician. Just as Gore's jet plane full of lawyers will be seen as the same.

I think the best thing to do is step back and take a breath and let the process play itself out. Gore hasn't won the state and neither has Bush. Let the count of the machine unreadable ballots continue. I say let them count all such ballots statewide too. But I am not sure how that works with Bush's campaign's tactic of not asking for such consideration in a timely manner.

Let's count these overseas ballots too. At this point it looks like people are simply assuming the worst, when what we may be seeing is the best of our Republic guiding us, how ever haltingly, through this corridor of conflicting interests.
