John, here is the scenario I am hoping for:

1. Judge Middlebrooks denies Bush's request for an injunction.

2. The county wide manual recount continues.

3. The county doesn't get it done by 5:00 Tuesday and the Florida Secretary of State throws it out.

Then Gore has no one to blame but himself.

But I could live with an injunction, too.

What I don't want to see is that manual recount finished by 5:00 Tuesday. I am heading to church to light some candles. I hope God is a Republican. (Just kidding!!!!!);^)

I saw Julia Roberts at the combination meeting and press conference. She looked incredibly fatigued and suffering from lack of sleep.

Did you see Judge Burton, the Republican? He wanted to delay the manual recount and seek an advisory opinion on from the Republican Secretary of State on a clear statute that requires, not permits, a recount (or one of two other remedies) when there is an error in the vote that could affect the outcome.

Too bad Judge Burton has no ability to read and understand the law.

102.166 Protest of election returns; procedure.--

(5) If the manual recount indicates an error in the vote tabulation which could affect the outcome of the election, the county canvassing board shall:

(a) Correct the error and recount the remaining precincts with the vote tabulation system;

(b) Request the Department of State to verify the tabulation software; or

(c) Manually recount all ballots.
